About a year ago I was in a funk. I had just gotten back from spending a semester in South Africa and was walking through the steps of life in a daze. In my memories, South Africa was a place of great joy and even greater adventure where every moment was filled with something new and each day held a new experience to be had. Southern California just didn’t hold the same appeal anymore.
So I called a friend who had shared the same experiences with me and this beautiful woman imparted some very great wisdom to me. “Kelsey”, she said in her ridiculously wise voice, “you just spent three months having a great adventure. But now you need to learn to find the adventure in everyday. You don’t have to be in South Africa to learn and grow. You just have to be willing to seek out opportunities to learn and grow wherever you’re at”. For these words I will forever be indebted to my friend. Because from that day forward, I swore to seek adventure in the everyday.
I’m a “jack of all trades, master of none” from a little town near Seattle, WA who went to California for college and to find myself. Well… I found myself… and I’m learning that myself is whoever I want her to be. I’m a crafty girl with an eye for beauty, a heart that breaks for the world and a soul that yearns to worship the one true God. My everyday adventures come from encounters with God, relationships with people, crafty inventions (well not inventions as much as impressions of already created things), reading great books, making new foods, and exploring the world. If you’re having trouble with finding the joy, hope and excitement in life, join me in finding the adventure in the everyday… it makes life so much more fun!
